Pizza bagels are a thing. I remember as a kid that they came in a box. Tiny ones, and they were good. Just like those pizza roll things but on bagel form. What is not to love. The reason why I post this is because I crave pizza. Just give me a slice, that is all. I often forget that while I am thinking of making an entire pizza, either homemade or frozen, that I only want so much, not the entire thing. Pizza bagels. Love them.
We always have bagels. A usual brand of frozen bagels, but they are always here in plain form. The girls love to eat them with cream cheese, or make avocado toast. Me? Pizza bagel.
Let’s get started.
Ingredients:
- 1 bagel (2 slices), more to your liking
- 1 tbsp marinara or pizza sauce to your liking, per bagel (to coat)
- 1/2 cup chihuahua cheese, or mozzarella (to coat)
- sliced pepperoni, to your liking
- 1/2 tbsp olive oil, optional
- grated parmesan cheese, optional
These are way too easy to make, so sit back and enjoy. In about 15 minutes you will have some pure comfort food.
Preheat your oven to 375 F.
Start by splitting your bagel. Flat side up for smearing.
Add a generous tablespoon of marinara to each bagel top. Spread gently with a spoon or knife until fully coated on the top. Next, add the cheese. Same method but be generous. If you are using chihuahua cheese, this stuff melts really well. Think cheese pull times two.
Lay on your pepperoni to your liking.
Place these onto your oven tray in your preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes. You want the cheese to be fully melted, almost lightly blond if you like it that way, but you will know.
Let these cool for a couple of minutes before eating. Talk about the perfect slice, or should I say pizza bagel, this is it. Just enough to get through one of those cravings. Sometimes that is all you need. Hope you have tried them in the past, and to present date. It’s funny how you can make things so much better. Enjoy!
